Traditional Select Aluminum Free-Floating Rain Gutter System

Alcoa Aluminum gutter

The Alcoa Traditional Select Aluminum Free-Floating rain gutter system was designed to support up to 50 pounds per lineal foot—
making it the strongest rain removal system you can have installed on your home. This is not a system that will be replaced
periodically, because it is engineered for lifetime performance, and it comes backed by a Lifetime Limited Warranty (PDF).

This system is designed so well, it's guaranteed to perform for as long as you own your home.

The Product

Alcoa Traditional Select systems provide lasting peformance and beauty in your choice of five-inch or six-inch gutters,
both made with heavy-duty .032 gage aluminum. The interior surfaces of this gutter are treated with a corrosion-resistant coating,
then clear-coated to withstand any the bad weather that comes its way. That includes things like acid rain and other atmospheric pollutants.

These gutters are treated with the exclusive Alcoa Alumalure 2000 finish in two separate coatings, then baked on. This finish
will last for many years, well beyond the few years a one-coat polyester finish will last on a seamless gutter product.

Below, you see the results of an acidified salt-fog testing. The top strip is the polyester finish, the bottom strip is
the Alumalure 2000 finish.

The front lip of Alcoa gutters is lower than the back, allowing water to drain over if the downspout is somehow clogged.
Typical in other systems we find installed, backed-up water seeps into the house, or flows down the side of the house,
causing serious damage to soffit and fascia, bricks and mortar, siding, or wooden structures at lower levels, such as decks and doors.

Even more good news— the Alumalure 2000 finish comes in a variety of colors to complement your home.

The Installation

This unique, patented free-floating hanger system allows the gutter to expand and contract with temperature changes— without causing
the hangers to work loose, as do spike-and-ferrule hangers commonly used with "seamless" gutter systems. These special hangers give
the gutter the freedom to slide back and forth as it expands and contracts, eliminating stress on the nails. They also support more weight,
which reduces or eliminates sagging entirely.
